ABOUT US

Ronson Reclaim has its roots in the building industry and is driven by a passion for discovering those special items which can transform your home, property or development.

Ron Jones was born and raised in Dagenham and moved to Gloucestershire back in 1963 with wife Margaret. It was here the father of five sons established his Plastering firm RFG Jones Plasterer. But it was his purchase of a cottage on the Tewkesbury Road the proved his road to Damascus moment. During its renovation, he realised people were calling out for materials suitable for listed buildings.

In 1983 he bought Norton Farm just north of Gloucester and opened Ronsons Reclaimation specialising in architectural salvage, supplying everything from one-off items, architectural artefacts, fixtures and fittings. It amassed not just an extensive stock of reclaimed building materials for customers looking to rebuild, restore and enhance their period and historic properties, but experience and expertise which includes its own stone masons, ironwork and armour making trades. Ronsons has supplied customers from English Heritage to celebrities nationally and internationally as well as our very Gloucester Cathedral and Docks.

In 2003 the business took another step forward, investing in a move to its now main site at Sandhurst. Then in 2007, David Jones, Ron’s second eldest son became a partner and in a play on words the business dropped the ‘S’ to become Ronson Reclaim. During this time however, Ronson Reclaim were up against numerous floods. It was in 2014 that the business faced severe flooding for almost 10 weeks. Both clients and staff were unable to get in or out of the Sandhurst site. With that in mind a second location needed to be found.

In 2015 new premises were located and the expansion was underway. With the help of family members ‘The Gallery’ a selection of showrooms were created. Lee, David’s brother and Clive, David’s son worked tirelessly to get the buildings turned around in a 12 month period.

Carly, David’s partner and Kate, David’s eldest daughter will be hosting an appointment only showroom. Showcasing individual pieces less than a mile away from the main Severn side site back where it all began in Longford, ensuring the passion of architectural salvage continues to thrive allowing generations to follow through in the footsteps of Ron & David.
